Johanna is building a career as one of Australia’s most acclaimed artists, working within musical theatre, theatre, opera, film, television and cabaret, whilst also gaining credits as director, writer and creative producer across theatre, television and festivals. She has a B.Mus.Perf (hons) and BA (Performance and Direction), with further training from Daniel Ferro Classical Voice Juilliard School and Actors Studio New York.
Johanna’s recent credits include Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music (GFO), Euromash in Melbourne Recital Centre Concert series, Charlotte in A Little Night Music (Watch This Melbourne), Showboat (The Production Company), Ode to Nonsense (Slingsby/State Opera of SA), The Threepenny Opera (Sydney Theatre Company/Malthouse), Into the Woods (Rob Guest Endowment), Wicked and Dr Zhivago (GFO), The Pirates of Penzance (Opera Australia and DVD release), The Mikado (Opera Australia), An Evening with Jeremy Sams (Adelaide Cabaret Festival), Dead Man Walking (State Theatre Sydney), The Phantom of the Opera (Packemin Productions) and Dogfight (Hayes Theatre Co/ Neil Gooding Productions).
As writer and performer, Johanna’s credits include the sell-out national tour of The Songs That Got Away – The Music of Harold Arlen. Her television and film credits include roles in The Divorce (ABC), McLeod’s Daughters (Nine Network) and Travelling Light (Toi Toi Features). In 2017 she made her debut with ABC radio as presenter/producer nationally across Australia. Johanna is an Adelaide Festival Centre Walk of Fame recipient and most recently premiering her new show Cake at the 2018 Adelaide Cabaret Festival.
